Seeing the Invisible, Speaking about the Unspoken: A Position Paper on Homophobia in Sport

The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) has prepared this paper to initiate a discussion about homophobia in sport. CAAWS views it as a first step in a longer-term strategy to reduce homophobia in Canadian sport and to make sport an inclusive and safe place for all participants. This paper is not intended to provide an answer to the problem of homophobia in sport–but to start a discussion that will hopefully lead to future solutions.
