Coming Out for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Youth

Coming out is an important part of developing a healthy, positive identity as an LGB individual. Adults in the school community (or any community that welcomes youth) are responsible for identifying themselves as allies so that young people know who they can turn to for support. This guide describes the process of coming out, serves as a tool to identify the needs of LGB youth, and helps adults to listen, support and provide resources.
